The classic greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydike in the opera version by Josef Haydn has been played in the basilika of the newly renovated Bodemuseum in Berlin in 2008 and 2010. The classical and minimal stagedesign - a white catwalk with a live olive tree on one side- is complemented by a largescale video projection onto the front gate of the basilika during the scenes playing in the "underworld" or "Hades". The projection is mapped to the architecture, with wavering clouds, scarred rocksurfaces, a shivering bare tree reflection in water running over the exact edges and planes of the gigantic gate, creating a morbid and doomed atmosphere during Orpheus visit to the underworld, where he finds and eternally loses his love Eurydike.
